What to look forward to
We have finished our back garden, which is now well planted and features a beautiful lead fountain cast by a local foundry. Meanwhile, as co-proprietor Jean-Jacques Quinsac remains busy cellaring newly arrived shipments of hard-to-find regional wines of great value, Chef Albert Ponzo is at the stove. Try his Os de Crô-Magnon, a neanderthalesque bone marrow with a parsley salad, or his pied-de-cochon, his boudin noir, his skate wing beurre noisette, his tongue of Wapiti ravigote, his sow's ear and lentil salad, his Tripes à la Tripel, not to mention his Alberta lamb gigot or his entrecôte steak frites. For desserts indulge in the Île Flottante or the Baba au Rhum.

The critics are unanimous: Le Sélect Bistro is the most authentic Parisian bistro this side of the Atlantic, with great Bistro food, a traditional zinc bar, jazz on the soundtrack, friendly and attentive service, and the best winelist in the city: just close your eyes and you could be in the City of Light... except that the service is more gracious.

We buy our wines en primeur as soon as they've been released, and cellar them in ideal conditions. This allows us to keep our prices very fair. If you've got a special wine of your own, then you're very welcome to bring it to Le Sélect - just let us know in advance. We charge a modest corkage fee which varies depending on the level of service required. Read what reviewers say about Le Sélect, and before you visit, check the map, which includes parking info. If you're interested in organizing a special function, we can create a customized menu, and host your event in one of our private dining rooms. |
